Why has the ECI $100 Club been silent? Well, we’ve been quietly waiting to reach this MAJOR milestone in our fundraising efforts towards the clinic before we announce the great work this club has done, and let us equally know the amount of work still ahead of us. Your ECI $100 Club has surpassed the psychological milestone of $20,000. This tells us that there is no goal that we set for ourselves that we cannot achieve. We still need your help, we are only at 20% of our goal and way behind scheduled (we really thought we would have started on our 2nd clinic by now, but that’s why it’s called Projected vs. Actual).
Please let me call out a few people that have really stepped up for this effort and continue to challenge each and every one of us to follow suit, The newly elected President of Eko Club NY, Hon. Dosunmu, who upon being elected donated $1,000 (and I believe has offered a challenge to all other chapter Presidents). My big brother, Alhaji, Attorney O. J. Lawal, who has continually donated to this cause, he alone has donated over 10% of our total ($2,600, he also has issued a challenge to all former ECI and chapter Presidents). I want to personally thank the former President of Eko Club Houston, Atty. Larry Johnson for responding to being hijacked at a party and joining the $100 Club.
You have seen the pictures, you have seen the reports, this has started and it is real, and we will completed this project with all of your help, this is OUR project.
Ps. Have you noticed that Chicago went from 1st to 3rd and Houston is now in the lead. Congratulations to all of you and lets continue this great work and see this to an end.

All,
Your ECI $100 Club report for the week ending 12/16/2010. I know that the report shows that we have raised $17,225 which is a great achievement for Eko Club International, but it is only 17.23% of our goal. For those of you that are looking for end of year charitable deductions, don’t forget that ECI is a 501c3 organization and you can deduct your donations. We really need your help.
As you might know we have broken ground on your clinic and the foundation and decking have been completed (you have seen the pictures). We are working in collaboration with the Osolo of Isolo to get this done, and as mentioned, we as ECI are way off our target amount. What are the achievements of the ECI $100 Club?
1. Raised $17,225 to-date
2. Have 9 plots of land donated to us in four divisions of Lagos State
a. Isolo – 1 Plot
b. Agbowa-Ikosi – 2 Plots
c. Badagry Axis – 2 Plots
d. Ijora – 4 Plots
3. Collaborated with the Osolo of Isolo and compromised with the community to dual-use the property for both our Clinic and Entertainment Hall (upstairs)
4. Donated N2M towards the project so far (all monies in our ECI $100 Club account before delegation left for the Medical Mission)
5. Received donations for nearly every chapter in ECI
6. Provided transparency to all monies collected (spending report coming soon)
7. Broke ground on schedule at elaborate groundbreaking ceremony with dignitaries from Isolo, including the Osolo himself
These achievements my brothers and sisters are your achievements but the biggest achievement of all will be when we complete the ECI Dr. Olowopopo Memorial Clinic and donate it to the Isolo community. Remember, all of your names will be on the building as donors to everything it stands for. For those that haven’t joined the ECI $100 Club, there is no better time than the present; remember you can donate in your name, family members, and your chapters. To date, no chapter has joined, even though members from each chapter have joined. It would be a great thing if all of our chapter names can be listed on the plaques that will house the names of the donators.
I thank all of you for reading this and please find below ways that you can STILL join the ECI $100 Club to make this dream a reality that we can leave as a legacy for our children as a way to give back to our community.
Blessings.

FROM: FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT
Dear Members, Friends, & Families:
On October 9th, 2009, I announced a major fundraising campaign; a campaign to raise $100,000 towards building a model local clinic in one of the five Divisions of Lagos State. This clinic will provide free healthcare services to the residence of the chosen Local Government, especially the less privileged.
The goal of this campaign is to seek one thousand (more if possible) friends and families of Lagos State to donate a minimum of $100.00. This ambitious campaign has been in the “quiet phase” since October 2009. I feel the time to launch this program is now! We are ready to go out and get this laudable ambition done for the betterment of our organization and the people of Lagos State.
As we prepare to converge in Houston, Texas to celebrate with our immediate Past-President Otunba Tajudeen Adio Olanbiwoninu Abass, my hope (with your help, my fellow Honorable brothers and sisters including the Women’s Forum (Eyi Iya wa e ran mi lowo) of this great Organization) is to raise most of this monies by the completion of the celebration in Houston, this will be a significant milestone for our organization. Given the current economic climate, this will speak volumes about the magnitude of love and the level of commitment that our members have for our great organization. Our members believe, as I do, that we have the leadership, momentum, and opportunity to transform our organization, and the potential to be leaders in key areas that are important both here in the US and in our home state, Lagos, Nigeria.
Some people have questioned whether this is the right time for a major fundraising campaign, I believe that there is no better time than the present to invest in our organization, and help improve the quality of healthcare for the people back at home.
The clinic, once completed, will focus on key priorities to address the various critical healthcare issues such as: free dental check-ups, geriatric healthcare, pre-natal healthcare and wellness & fitness child care etc.
I have the commitment of an outstanding volunteer campaign committee for this effort, individuals whose support will ensure the success of this project; they include, Gbolahan Gbadamosi, Mrs. Atawo (the first person to contribute her money towards this project), Dr. Shamsi’el deen Ajaga-Ekemode, Kemi Baljack, Sade Sosan, Rasheed Oloriebi Sanyaolu, Prince Rilwan Alonwole, Idowu Agbaje and Rebecca Ajose. In addition, an exceptional campaign executive committee will provide guidance to the overall campaign effort, they are being lead by Mr. Bissy Gaji, Toyin Ola, Adewale Dosumu, Harif Atobajeun and Alhaji Hakeem Kareem. I am grateful for their guidance and support.
The fundraising campaign to raise $100,000 towards building this model local clinic will be the largest campaign in our organizations history. We have learned from our medical mission efforts, that our
members do have significant transformational effect on bringing free healthcare to our communities in Lagos State.
I shall be providing periodic updates on the Clinic projects’ progress (including fundraising information) as we move forward. I will like to encourage everyone to devote their effort to the completion of this campaign by September 26th, 2010. Click here to view details of contributions so far from members & friends of ECI $100 Club.
I am confident that we shall be successful with this program, additionally; our success will most definitely translate into new opportunities for all indigenes of Lagos State and new contributions in support of healthcare just like our medical missions.
My brothers and sisters, I thank you all in advance, may God bless everyone and help make this project a success. Amen!
Thank you.
