Message From President Popoola

FROM THE DESK OF THE 2009 TO 2011 EXECUTIVE MEMBERS

“Nothing is as contagious as enthusiasm” – Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

When individuals and teams are energized, extraordinary things happen. People are engaged. Smiles and other signs of enjoyment are everywhere. Also found everywhere are diligence and attention to getting things done. Sounds pretty great, huh? Well, if you’re like many of us, then from time to time, you have to deal with people who are unmotivated: who view the glass as half empty, work below their true potential, and are not as results-oriented as they need to be. Today, I’d like to share with you that the members of Eko Club Ohio under the leadership of Alhaji Fatai Adesiji have unleash the extraordinary within Eko Club International. The Ohio chapter has proven to all of us that they are leaders and a timber and caliber within Eko Club International.

When Eko Club International Convention committee sent out an email requesting from cha

pters interested in hosting the 2011 convention; two chapters stepped up and Eko Club Ohio was one of those chapters. They have not allowed their newness to ECI to preclude them from applying and did everything to win the ability to host the convention. As you know, at the just concluded 4th Quarterly meeting in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Eko Club Maryland was awarded the 2011 ECI Convention.

On behalf of the executives and the entire members of ECI, I say a big thank you to the Ohio Chapter and congratulate Eko Club Maryland and the individuals that served and will be serving on the convention committee.

Now, that we have determined where the next convention is going to be, it is time for

all of us to lend a hand to the hosting chapter so that we all can be successful.

Fellow Lagosians, the 2011 Eko Club International Convention will be in Maryland.  Start packing.
